Eric, I just do not understand this statement. Sure for small installs I can see accessing a registry entry versus a SQL server would be faster, but what about 100,000 users? Wouldn't the severely bloated registry slow things down significantly enough to make SQL Server a realistic solution?
I ask because we are using SQL here for our approx. 1500 users and have never had problems or speed issues. Of course, we would not change as our management systems run off the SQL dbase and the integration is important to us.
