What I would recommend instead -- assuming that the majority of the users are on the IMail server -- would be to keep the DNS records the way they are, but instead have IMail forward E-mail for those 15 users to the Exchange server. You can use aliases, which would prevent the E-mail from being stored on the IMail server (except while it was in transit). In my opinion, you would want E-mail coming in to whichever server hosts the most users.I realize that Exchange and Imail have been gummed to death in this forum, but I need someone's opinion on a "task" I have been assigned. My company wants to run and exchange server at one of our locations for about 15 users. I know that most of you "dislike" MS but some of use have to work with the systems. My project is to have this server running internally and have all the mail for these 15 users go to the exchange server instead of the Imail server. My not so elegant solution is to do the following:1. Set up the exchange server as mail2.server.com 2. Set the MX record to have a priority of 20 3. remove the users for the imail server 4. set them up on the exchange server an have them still use @duda.com
