Yours is not the typical syndrome when a rotten msg in the queue makes Imail barf, but there's nothing to fear.I'm going to be doing this soon I fear.
MOVEing the entire queue to spool/save, tabula rasa, too see if the box settles down, is not dangerous. some legit mail delayed (not lost), but maybe your server works again.
If it doesn't settle down, move save/ back.
If it does, then suspect something in save/
