One nice thing about the Allot is that if there is a software glitch, the unit will revert to simple bridging mode, as long as it is still receiving power. So, while the bandwidth policies will stop functioning, customers will still be able to pass traffic, albeit in a congested way. I believe the Allot has an option for hardware redundancy.
