In 2 last day we a have a lot of problem with our customer that use Outlook Express to send email by our SMTP server (5.09).
We have NO MAIL RELAY, REFUSE NULL <> SENDERS and CHECK VALID SENDER enabled; DISABLE SMTP VRFY and DISABLE SMTP AUTH disabled.
One thing that you need to change is that you must UNcheck the "Refuse NULL Senders" -- if that box is checked, your mailserver will not be RFC-compliant, and you it got you listed in a spam database ( http://www.rfc-ignorant.org ). You need to uncheck that box, and then go to the URL I listed to get removed from the spam database.

It won't fix the SMTP AUTH problem, but will help ensure that your mail gets delivered. I don't know that anyone actually blocks E-mail from domains listed in http://www.rfc-ignorant.org , but lots of people have that count against you when trying to determine if your E-mail is legitimate or not.
