It you delete only the directories and files then you still have not deleted the IMAIL database entries which always includes some registry entries and may include odbc or sam elements. So if you were to delete accounts manually you would have to remember to also delete the registry and/or odbc entries. So it is probably better to use the Imail Admin applet or the command line tool or one of the 3rd party tools.
