The "\" tells the rule processor to use the next character literally, not its special meaning.

I am a bit fuzzy on the rule nomenclature. 

 

For example I have rules that are to stop the word Fre*   ie Get your Fre* DVD etc.  Yet the rule stops the words  - fre*dom and Fre*mantle

How to do I use the rule to only stop fre*

 

replace the * with the letter e in case some people have rules that stop Fre* in the body of a message.
