btw, IMGate already uses DNS extensively to validate a) MTAs, b) @sender.domain, and recently, c) even full [EMAIL PROTECTED] IMGate requires:
1. For a list of 3500 frequently forged @sender.domains, that sending ip have matching A + PTR records.
2. For your own @sender.domains, that sending ip have matching A + PTR records.
3. every @sender.domain must must have an A or PTR record.
4. for complete [EMAIL PROTECTED], IMGate "sender address verification" will try, before accepting mail from [EMAIL PROTECTED], to deliver a msg to [EMAIL PROTECTED] at the MX of sender.domain. the basic rule being:
"We will accept mail from you, if you will accept mail from us".

No one solution is the answer, and every new tactic is welcome.
DSP would be great assistance. I expect that it would be available in IMGate if it ever becomes widely enough implemented. The "price" of implementing DSP is certainly easy to pay. :))
DSP could require perhaps substantial white listing per-user for roaming users.
Habeas is particularly intrusive, ime, since it wants to add something like 10 header lines to every msg sent by a Habeas user.
