I did find this (or at least a header) on the archives, however, it is taking
an extremely long time to load.
I am trying to use delivery rules to filter out spam, etc. However, only a few
messages actually get filtered and sent to junk. I am running IMail Server
7.07.
On my travels through the web there are several things that are unclear:
- What is the limit on the number rules you can have?
- What is the limit of characters in a rule?
- What is the limit of characters in a search string file?
- How are search strings created? I've seen several examples and used them all
to no avail.
In my rules.ima file I have:
F~:white:Main
F~:spamaddy:junk
S~:spamsub1:junk
S~:spamsub2:junk
S~:spamsub3:junk
B~:spambod1:junk
B~:spambod2:junk
B~:spambod3:junk
B~:spambod4:junk
So, as an example, this is what is in my spambod1.rul file:
(has{1}a{1}crush{1}on{1}you|removed{1}from{1}future{1}mailings|remove{1}from{1}
list|start{1}your{1}own{1}business|penis|ejaculation|erections|free{1}grant{1}
money|viagra|click{1}here|unsubscribe|debt{1}elimination|debt{1}
free|optinfactory)
I originally started off with spaces instead of the {1}'s, but that didn't work
either.
I do have a junk.fwd file located in each user's folder pointing to an alias.
I realize I sound like a newbie, but in about an hour, this newbie will not
have any hair left.
Any assistance is greatly appreciated!
James
