Here's a snippet of a log entry which I see from time to time, I don't fully understand what the log is trying to tell me, and the email still gets delivered. Can anyone please help shed some light on this?
The problem is that there is no problem. :)
I'm particularly interested in the 3rd line where the comment is "..end with .' on a line by itself"
That's just instructing the remote mailserver what to do. The RFCs specify that after sending the DATA command, a mail client should send the body of the E-mail, followed by a line with just a single "." on a line by itself. So you end the E-mail with a '.' on a line by itself.
