Does anyone know how to add a prefix to a domain name? I see people run sites and send email from let us say

test.domainname.com

The first question is do you *really* want to do that? There are probably millions of mailservers that must accept E-mail in the format "[EMAIL PROTECTED]" because they were accidentally set up to accept mail that way in the beginning, and a few people found out and gave out their E-mail addresses that way. Now, that can't go back to just accepting mail to "[EMAIL PROTECTED]".

If you want to, though (there may be some good reasons to), there are two steps:

[1] Add an MX record for test.example.com that points to your mailserver, and
[2] Tell IMail to accept mail to that domain (either by having test.example.com an alias for the example.com domain, or you can set it up as its own domain if it should have different user accounts than example.com).
