I've also noticed that this happens when integrated with NT/AD. I believe
this has to do with the parsing routine that Ipswitch uses to get the names
from the user DB. This has frustrated us as well because Ipswitch is forcing
us to use the "Display Name" attribute in AD in a specific name order.

On occasion I've noticed interesting things like nested self-referencing loops
(use a regular LDAP 1/2 command line tool to take a look).

I would recommend using a 3rd Party LDAP server, like OpenLDAP (linux or
Win32).

Subject: [IMail Forum] LDAP with Outlook 2002

I have a few problems with LDAP on Imail 8.0.

First of all, my users' names are listed in Imail Admin with their first and
last names in the first name field. When I correct this and initialize the
LDAP database, the users' names are rewritten with both first and last in
the first name field again.

I can use Windows' search function to find people in the LDAP database on my
Imail server, only by searching for "address contains 'mydomain.net'"...
obviously due to the above point.

Secondly, is Outlook 2002 compatible with Imail's LDAP? When I look up
names, Outlook responds with the "Check Names" window stating that it cannot
find any matching records.

Is anyone else experiencing similar abnormalities?

Thanks.
