Thanks for the reply Eric.

I was fortunate enough to catch this in the act of failure. This server has 512M ram,
2.5 G swap, Dual 1g proc, raid drive sets, etc. At failure, procs were idling at no
more than 10%, 12 web users, smtp was using several short processes, and ram used was
around 150 meg. In essence, the box was idling. This failure is also sometimes
accompanied by a "memory could not be 'written'" (sometimes 'read') failure in which
the web service cannot be started\restarted until the windows error is cleared (this
is not a DR. Watson error). Drives are not fraged, spool is clean, disks are not I\O
bound, different memory has been tried. Frequency of failure is around twice\week and
appears(though not a 100% correlation) to not be user related but instead MAC related.

The error you are seeing "Error in ThreadProc" is usually indicative of
running out of resources. Check the usage in taskmanager when this
happens...What's the config of the box (RAM, Pagefile, etc)?

Subject: [IMail Forum] web mess, ssl and mac

Hi all,

This issue(log below) causes a web mess crash. Has anyone seen this in an
ssl environment? It appears that MAC still occasionally crashes 443 ssl,
even on v8.x. Besides switching to stunnel, does anyone have a suggestion?
The usual things have been tried.

Thank you very much,
Dave
