My guess would be broken spamware. Checking the IP address that sent it would likely provide a big clue -- if it's on a lot of spam databases ( http://www.DNSstuff.com will show you), it's probably broken spamware. I'd also try searching the IMail SMTP log file to see if there have been other connection attempts, just in case it is a legitimate mailserver gone haywire.
