We have had clients reporting that emails they are sending are being bounced back. We tested an email address they were trying to send to today and got this in the Imail 7.07 Log. We are running Win2k with Declude and incoming mail goes through NAV SMTP Gateway 3.01
This seems to be a more and more common problem:
20030626 084925 127.0.0.1 SMTP (2524) >MAIL FROM:<[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
20030626 084925 127.0.0.1 SMTP (2524) 553 5.1.8 <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>... Domain of sender address [EMAIL PROTECTED] does not exist
http://www.DNSstuff.com/tools/traversal.ch?name=progressivesystems.biz&type=MX shows that progressivesystems.biz definitely does exist. Their mailserver is FUBAR. Some people are getting paranoid about spam, and assume that any E-mail that they don't receive is spam, and therefore they don't know (or care!) how much legitimate E-mail they aren't getting. So I'm guessing a broken anti-spam program is causing this problem. It probably is having problems with the .biz TLD (most anti-spam programs require their own DNS engine, and the different TLDs each act a bit differently from one another).
