I am running Imail 6.02 with Webshield for SMTP on the same server. Last Friday my server went down twice and only after rebooting it came back up. I checked the logs and found the following line:

06:27 20:51 SMTPD(098700D8) Possible hack attempt from 10.100.1.17, address will be denied future connections until restart

I do have Auto-deny possible hack attempts turned on. At this point I do not have a clue as to what caused this. I looked through my Webshield logs and could not find anything out of the ordinary. Should I keep the "auto-deny possible hack attempts" turned on? Are there any other places I can look to see if someone was actually trying to "hack" us?

Thanks for any insight.

Kevin
