In my scenario McAfee Netshield caused a huge slow down and high CPU usage.

I.e. what happened, that our email server is also our FTP and WEB server, therefore I have to have both McAfee Netshield and Webshield running on it. (Netshield for regular file traffic, webshield for the email.)

What I forgot about was, that both Netshield and Webshield were fighting for the same email messages to check for viruses.

Once I excluded the folder c:\IMail in Netshield, everything went back to normal.

We've been running an IMail v6.06a Server on NT4.0. I installed v8.01 on a
new Windows 2000 Server to become familiar with it before we do the upgrade
and then move.

My experience with v8.01 on Windows 2000 Server is EXTREMELY slow! We're
talking instead of IMAP/POP3 accounts retrieving 50 new headers/messages in
about 4 seconds -- it's nearly 1/4 to 1/2 second each item.

What can I look for? Nothing else -- such as DNS, AD, etc -- is loaded on
this server. Spec's are 600Mhz, 384Mb RAM, ATA-100 40Gb Harddrive -
definately setup for background services. Current Spec's on IMail v6 is
450Mhz, 256Mb RAM, ATA-66 IDE 20Gb Harddrive.
