Yes, you're right - I will try and get a test server setup.

It's interesting that you are not seeing the same effect - how did you
test your servers? It should be noted that the spikes are very short,
but if you repeatedly issue RCPT TO: commands (20 in my Perl script)
then the load can stay up at 100% for the duration of the commands.

Mmm, agreed. Win2k has more than enough memory free to cache the
registry entries. Perhaps I might see a different reaction on the test
server, as it won't be under any load.
