Hey everyone, I had the below rules in my rules.ima and my orules.ima (Imail
8 and W2k SP4)

Now my hope was to stop any emails with these attachments from going in or
out from my server. Now as soon as I put this in my outbound rules, I can
not reply to messages... I get and error like:

This is one of the problems inherent with filters -- false positives.


HTML E-mail usually has "na_me=", followed later by something like "www.example.com". It is impossible to create a filter that will accurately catch attachments (that's really a job for a virus scanner or similar program), but if you are careful, you can do a good job at it.

For example, filtering for "filena_me=" will significantly reducing the false positives, while catching most (but not all) E-mails with .com attachments.
