I asked the group about this in the last week or so. The initial problem was "MX connect fail [x.x.x.x]"
The suggestion was to try another network adapter. Well that was not the problem, the problem is as follows; Issue verified on Imail server 7.15 and 8.01 HF1 Problem description: -------------------------------------------------------------- Windows 2000 with IIS on port 80 Imonitor monitoring WWW on port 80 We only run SSL port 443 for Web messaging and a non secure port, not port 80, that is blocked by our firewall for Web messaging. IMonitor use up all client connection ports between 1024 and 5000 in about 3 days well 2.76 days to be exact. netstat shows a large number of CLOSE_WAIT ports that never close from ant to the IPaddress of the mail server. If you start and stop Imonitor the problem clears. Fix: Do not allow IMonitor to monitor Web Messaging unless you supply the IMail actual Web Messaging HTTP port.
