Yes, Blackice is very good. It is stable on our server with ~80K emails processed per
day.

It lets you auto firewall IPs that send your server too many invalid RCPT TO
addresses. The newest release also lets you do things like drop connections from IPs
that connect to freequently. ie: only allow 10 SMTP connections from a single IP in
any given 10 second period.

Its good stuff, but I wish Imail would build more security features like this directly
into their Imail product.

Subject: [IMail Forum] Not imail related. BlackIce Firewall?

Any opinions on Blackice Server Product? I am looking at it closely.

I have downloaded the demo and awaiting my eval key.

Anyone had any experience with this in a shared hosting or heavly used
server environment.

Any downside? Stability? Reliability?

Their application protection feature makes a lot of sense. It is a
firewall product as well.

Thanks,

John Cesta
