Check out Treo 300 / Snappermail combination - it's a Palm OS device.  If he really wants latest and greatest, the Treo 600, due October ish, looks like it'll be the combo device to beat.

I've heard the Blackberry / phone device is not very satisfactory.  And the Pocket PC / Phone devices aren't particularly small yet.  That's changing, supposedly, but I don't believe any of the better devices are shipping.

Subject: [IMail Forum] Imail w/ Blackberry / PocketPC -- off topic

Well....it seems that my boss needs a new toy.  He would prefer a Pocket PC or Blackberry with an integrated phone.  I have a few questions though.

1) I thought the big benefit of a Blackberry was that is operated on the Paging Network which has supposedly better coverage than cellular networks.  If the Blackberry has an integrated phone is is on a cellular network or both the cellular and paging networks ?

2)  Would the best way to access email be via IMAP and is IMAP supported on the Pocket PC platform?

My aplogies for the of topic message, but I am sure that some/many of you have faced or will face the same question.

Unfortunately, the salespeople really do not know what they are talking about and contradict each other as well as themselves.

Thanks in advance.
