You  do  not  want  to  trust 127.0.0.1 if that is the IP address that
IMail  will  see as the connecting IP for e-mail from the Internet. If
you  have  another  SMTP daemon receiving on port 25 and forwarding to
127.0.0.1:26,  for  example, IMail will see 127.0.0.1 as the source of
all  e-mails (likewise for any a.b.c.d that is actually forwarding all
outside mail to IMail).

If  you  have  an  isolated application running on the mailserver that
simply  sends  using  IMail on 127.0.0.1:25, it would be safe to trust
that IP--as no users should/would have access to that application. But
why  are  you  sure that such notifications would be flagged as bad if
you didn't whitelist?
