The only thing that is different is the IP and
the server name, I'm not only moving IMail to a new server, but the new
server is also in another location.
I would rather they not use POP3 for that,
but you can't tell a user anything. We host websites, so I don't have
the ability to force some of our users to use one over the
other.

Is everything the same on the new server (IP
address, etc)? OE is notorious for losing synch wbetween the server index
and its local index...POP3 is not the preferred method to use for leaving
messages on the server...For people that want to do that I strongly
recommend IMAP4 as this is one of the main properties of the protocol not an
also thought of.

Subject: [IMail Forum] Moving IMail
to new server, downloading all messages
I'm running IMail 7.10 on NT 4, and am in the
process of moving it to a new server running 2000 server. I
installed IMail on the new server and transferred all of my users accounts
to the new server, and almost everything seems to work fine. The
only problem I am having is that I have several users who have the "Leave
a copy of messages on server" box checked in Outlook Express, and when I
move them over to the new server it tries to download all of their
previous messages from the server, and I don't want them to have to do
that. I've looked through everything I could find for an
answer. Has anyone done this successfully, and if so, could you tell
me how.
Thanks,
Brad
