Great analysis; this matches what I have been seeing but I have not run the stats as you did. Spammers have undoubtably been invoking GEN1 or GEN2 Sobig backdoors to send recently.
There was a big cry recently when Cox cable blocked customer access to all SMTP servers except their own. Do they show up in the abuse profile?
