What you want to do with the directory structure looks fine, IMail will not get faster or slower in this configuration.

As for automating domain creation, there is a utility in the IMail Dir called adddomain.exe that may accomplish what you want.

Subject: [IMail Forum] special directory structures with Imail 8.0

we would like to use the following directory structure for virtual host under Imail 8.0

main directory would be : d:/users for example
then under that main directory we would like to create directories going from : 0 to 9 and from A to Z

virtual host with domains starting with a NUMBER ex: 123.com will be placed under the directory d:/users/1/123.com
virtual host with domains starting with a LETTER ex: ZOULOU.com will be placed under the directory d:/users/Z/ZOULOU.COM
etc..

and this in order to be able to retrieve virtual host more easely.

Is there any restrictions doing so ? and will this way of doing have any influence on the performance of Imail ?
Is it good or wrong to make our directory structure like explained here above ?

or will all of the above have no influence on speed and processing ?

besides the scripts available in the Imail manual (via the command line prompt) is there any other advanced scripts in order to process virtual host creation and other stuf that we could find somewhere ?

thanks for your comments about this.

Mike
