Someone commented several months ago about how all confirmations from airlines/travel companies etc should be allowed through without filtering.
I had attached a number of headers that showed that the airlines were using outside vendors to process their confirmations - which made this request even more difficult - and also caused concern that email addresses were going to parties outside of the actual travel companies. Well, as of Sunday evening, it appears that either Orbitz has been hacked or their outside vendor has allowed that information to fall into the hands of spammers who have started slamming those addresses. If in the next several days credit card charges start appearing on Orbitz customer's accounts - it will thus help to narrow where the breach of information occurred, but all and all, it is just another example of why its so difficult to whitelist any company subcontracting work out to others.
