Reflects an article of spammers writing worms to send mass email?
It's believed that Sobig was written (or commissioned by) spammers for sending out spam, and doing other "dirty work" for spammers.
Most/all of the recent Mimail variants appear to have been written by (or commissioned by) spammers in an attempt to attack anti-spam sites (similar to what happened to Osirusoft, Monkeys, and a few others within the past few months).
