[IMail Forum] Accessing mail outside of LAN

hello,   i recently added another host to our mail server.   i am running 7.07.   in the set up, i was advised that any additional hosts would need to be virtual, and that two hosts couldn't show the same IP.   now that the second host is in place, users can no longer get their mail from outside of our lan. i.e. imail.server.com doesn't work, but 192.168.1.99 works for both pop and smtp.   has anyone had this experience?
