hi,

I'm new to this forum, i'm just curious because were having an upgrade from
earlier version of Imail Server 7.02 to imail server 8.02. Actually were
setting up the 8.02 to a New machine Server and my problem is that i have to
transfer the old users (7.02) to the New machine with 8.02 version, I know
all about the find orphan thing in transferring users but after the
transfer,i tried to access an specific account the password was reset to
"password". Is there a way that the old password will retain?

FYI: I'm using the Imail User Database.

IMAIL 6.x!!!!!

And you are just finding this now?

It's been a known problem and documented since the hotfix came out - some 9+
months ago.

Ipswitch did go back and created a fix for 7.0x and 7.1x with 7.07 hotfix 3
and 7.15 hotfix 3.

You shouldn't expect them to go back to the 6.x and create a fix at this
point.

BTW, there is a vulnerability in Windows for something called Blaster you
might want to think about patching prior to next Spring.

Anyone else having the same screen offset problem in IMAIL 6.x after
applying the Microsoft KB824141 hotfix on Windows 2000 Server sp3?

If you haven't applied it yet, beware. I applied a few hotfixes at once, and
then saw the results. Ugh.

I rolled them back one by one until I found the bugger.

I then went to another IMAIL server that also had all the newest hotfixes
applied, and just rolled back KB824141 >bingo: it came back to normal.

I guess holding on to 6.x is going to start getting harder.

Hope this helps.
