I have several opt-in emails that our system is filtering out even though I have explicitly listed those domains in the white list and made sure that the domains do not exist in the black list. What am I missing here.
Don't worry about "the black list" -- the E-mail is failing spam test(s) that are causing it to get caught, so adding/removing information about the E-mail to blacklists won't help, unless they are blacklist(s) that the E-mail is failing.
The #1 most common problem with whitelists is that you aren't whitelisting on the correct address. Both IMail and Declude whitelist based on the return address ("MAIL FROM" in the SMTP envelope). You'll need to check the IMail SMTP log file (or X-Declude-Sender: header, if you run Declude JunkMail) to see what address to whitelist. This is especially problematic for mailing lists, which often use a different address in the "From:", "Sender:", "Reply-To:", and "Errors-To:" headers than the actual return address.
FWIW, the #2 most common problem with whitelists is people that whitelist their own domain. That's an invitation to receive spam, as most spammers pick the return address to use based on what is most likely to be delivered (and they know a lot of people mistakenly whitelist their own domain).
