Very good reasons, although you should be aware that offloading outgoing SMTP completely to another server--rather than only offloading remote submission--is more efficient. Your messages will be despooled much faster when using a smart host, freeing up the disk faster, but that's still not as good as not touching the mailbox server at all. Of course, there can be business and technical reasons that preclude this latter setup. If you're now clear on the reqs, I'd say go for it and enjoy the freed-up resources, keeping an even more distributed architecture in mind for the future. -Sandy ------------------------------------ Sanford Whiteman, Chief Technologist Broadleaf Systems, a division of Cypress Integrated Systems, Inc. e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] ------------------------------------ To Unsubscribe: http://www.ipswitch.com/support/mailing-lists.html List Archive: http://www.mail-archive.com/imail_forum%40list.ipswitch.com/ Knowledge Base/FAQ: http://www.ipswitch.com/support/IMail/ To Unsubscribe: http://www.ipswitch.com/support/mailing-lists.html List Archive: http://www.mail-archive.com/imail_forum%40list.ipswitch.com/ Knowledge Base/FAQ: http://www.ipswitch.com/support/IMail/
