How high or low shall you run Maximum Processes and what does it actually do in performance
30 is the default. A lower value might be useful on an older server, if CPU usage is occasionally at 100%. A higher value is rarely necessary, but will allow more mail to be delivered (useful if you have mailing lists, or large quantities of outgoing mail). The major warning, though, with a higher value is that it can cause the system to overload and crash (see http://www.declude.com/dq.htm for details on what happens).
