Ahh... now I understand you question. I don't think this information is available. If memory serves, I was told that you need a maintenance contract w. Ipswitch for the updates. (In fact, Ipswitch just told me to stop using their AV.) I'm not really sure what happens if you don't have one, and I suspect you could continue downloading and applying definitions. Albeit you'd be violating the EULA.
As you inherited this, you may want to contact Ipswitch. They can see if when the product was purchased and when you maintenance is up.

If it's the Ipswitch Imail AV, look at the AV tab it should have the definition date.
I believe you can also look at the dates on the files located in symcscan(?)
If you are using the Ipswitch AV you may also want to look at the following article.
I scheduled daily updates when I was using the Ipswitch product.
