I tried what you are trying to do, and found myself unsuccessful in ridding myself of false positives, I find that if I keep all my antispam files updated, merging with what I already placed there myself, and properly arranging the rules for each Spam header on each domain, that it works much more effectively. I also found the valfrom and valhelo were ALL of my false positives, so I disabled that feature. I wish my company would spring for declude.. :\ I still have Spam issues, and it is a pain to keep up with the spammer's new methods. My boss rides me everyday about the Spam, yet everyone else seems to finally be happy with the filters I have in place. I also found that statistical Spam catches were minimal.. so I don't bother with the Spam seeder util.
The new Antispam.zip file that ipswitch released on dec 10th, comes with a utility that allows you to merge url-domain-bl with the one you currently have, ridding of duplicates, and also the phrase filtering. Try it. I am noticing Imail is not the right email app for my company that hosts over 1200 domains across 2 servers. My objective is to improve spam statistical file by feeding it the spam we receive. I have successfully run antispamseeder.exe on this spam mailbox. My question... If an outlook user highlights several spam messages and forwards them to the spam mailbox, these messages are sent as attachments to the spam folder. Also in this case, the user's signature is included in the forwarded message. - Will this successfully attach these attachments? - And will it process information in signature as spam? I also have set up a mailbox called notspam@<domain.com> and plan on doing the same with the -good switch. I see a warning about removing the forwarding header information in the imail docs, but I recall someone on this list saying this was not necessary to do so. Any suggestions or gotcha's here? -Jim To Unsubscribe: http://www.ipswitch.com/support/mailing-lists.html List Archive: http://www.mail-archive.com/imail_forum%40list.ipswitch.com/ Knowledge Base/FAQ: http://www.ipswitch.com/support/IMail/ To Unsubscribe: http://www.ipswitch.com/support/mailing-lists.html List Archive: http://www.mail-archive.com/imail_forum%40list.ipswitch.com/ Knowledge Base/FAQ: http://www.ipswitch.com/support/IMail/
