I just asked this question of ipswitch's tech support and they told me
that it is not necessary to remove any headers. They do however
recommend that messages are not forwarded with signature lines inserted.
Another note of interest is that if multiple messages are forwarded at
one time from a client like outlook - they are included as attachments,
which as tech support told me are not handled by the antispamseeder
utility

Is there a way to process messages that have been forwarded to a spambox
such as [EMAIL PROTECTED] to remove the additional headers included
from being forwarded? I'd like to give our users a place to forward
messages to from which I can then process the messages with a minimum of
hand-editing.
