Kathy, if you go out and grab the free Win32 UNIX utilities at:
http://unxutils.sourceforge.net/, you can then run a simple script like
the
following:

head -25 d*.smd | egrep -i "^(from:|to:|subject)" | usort -i | uniq -ic
|
usort

and output a list of the To:, From:, and Subject: fields from the
headers,
which should help you to determine if there is a huge number of
duplicate
messages (mail loop) or bogus sender (spammer) or non-existent
recipients.
