Even though this should be a dead topic by now...putting a button like that or even one that has start/stop services would be bad. You would get kicked out of your web session, along with every one else, and if it didn't restart as planned there would no way for you to get back in. There have been numberous times I've been kicked out in such way.
I was configuring a cisco firewall and every time I'd start it I'd get booted. It's really bad to have to call the customer and walk them through typing the commands to bring the wall down. Can you imagine that your at home one night, dont have PC Anywhere or the like on your server and you bring down a service...the signifigant other (already pissed because your working late from home) will be even more upset because you have to drive TO the office to reset it. I dont know who'd I'd rather be pissed at me...all my customers for bringing mail down, or my mate for having to drive into the office. ---------- Original Message ---------------------------------- From: "Andy Tripp" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Reply-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Date: Mon, 12 Jan 2004 13:15:49 -0800 >Another suggestion-- > >A restart services button on web messaging for users designated as 'system >admin'... > >-Andy > >-----Original Message----- >From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] >[mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Mike Biddle >Sent: Monday, January 12, 2004 12:49 PM >To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] >Subject: Re: [IMail Forum] Suggestion for IPSwitch (Restart Services Button) > >> Should you act like the lack of it is a huge problem that effects the >> usability of the product?
