With MyDoom I just wanted to mention what I feel IMgate assisted with in
stoppig the virus. I have the routine setup to export my Imail users to a
file and then move them into a file on IMgate so it will only forward mail
to Imail for our actual users (mail to non existant users gets dropped)

In reviewing IMgates activity for yesterday, 2298 messages were sent to bogus one name
users on our mail system. We have never had any one name users except postmaster,
abuse, etc. Also, the rejects to one name user names was not occuring until Monday.

It was also 2298 that did not have to be rejected by Imail or scanned by declude. We
are a K-12 school distrcit and have relatively small volumes of mail received each
day, usually around 5000 messages actually delivered.

This is on top of the other checks IMgate does to stop inbound mail to our main
server. Adding IMgate as our public mail server has been one of the best decisions I
think I've made (well, that and Declude). in stopping spam and viruses.

If you run IMgate, it's worth the time to setup the scripts for moving your Imail
users to IMgate for rejecting... if you don't have IMgate, think about it, it really
is a good product, and offloads work from you Imail server.

Thanks Len, for allowing us to have this product...
