I run my own mailserver here on a single static IP from
Sprint/Earthlink.
However: RoadRunner fails in rDNS to get my domain (which is pointed
correctly to my IP)

Sprint/Earthlink won't add my domain to their DNS for my IP.

Any way to get my email to appear to come from [EMAIL PROTECTED]
so that it goes through?

Welcome to the world of "We hate spam so much that we are willing to intentionally block non-spam, so that we don't have to find tools that can block most of the spam without intentionally blocking non-spam."

rr.com is the #1 worst offender. Even though you have a static IP, and have a TOS that allows you to run a mailserver, they treat you like a little kid at school and require a note from your parents. In this case, they will only accept mail from you if you get Sprint/Earthlink to contact them and tell them it is OK for you to send rr.com mail. Unless you can get Sprint/Earthlink to do that (it's no easy task -- you can't just have some tech there send a note -- rr.com has to E-mail a specific address, which Sprint/Earthlink would need to respond to).

What one person suggested is to contact anyone at rr.com, and have them complain (or, give them links to high-speed Internet providers that compete with rr.com).

Another option (what we do, since we refuse to take advantage of our connections at rr.com) is to add rr's.comto your HOSTS file. But, evil rr.com makes this very hard, as they use many different rr's.com (tx.rr.com, sfla.rr.com, etc.).
