Has anybody used any McAfee antivirus product with IMail?
We have a site license for McAfee products, and I'd rather not have to buy the Symantec Carrier Scan AV solution if we can do AV scanning without it.
For mailserver virus scanning, you need 3 pieces: [1] A standard AV program, [2] A mailserver, and [3] the "glue" that handles everything else (decoding, notifications, detecting mailsever AV vulnerabilities, etc.).
You already have #2. IMail AntiVirus combines #1 and #3. So you can use IMail AntiVirus as one option.
If you have a desktop McAfee program (such as VirusScan or NetShield), you now have #1 as well as #2, so you would just need #3 (our Declude Virus handles that part).
If you have a mailserver McAfee program (such as WebShield SMTP), then you have #1, two #2's, and #3. That would work fine, although it gets a bit more complicated to set up (since you have to either install it on the IMail server and deal with multiple ports, or you have to install it on a separate server and deal with multiple IPs).
