Eric,

I don't think so, because there wasn't a loop of messages in the spool, just the  1 control file that inflated to 5g's

hummmm, I'll check the logs and get back to you...

I'm trying to get an answer from Ipswitch's support, but no luck untill now...

Thanks

Rudy

Imail will detect an alias loop and will only process the message 5 times. Are you sure it wasn't the other server? need to see logs as this shouldn't happen

Subject: [IMail Forum] alias loop

Hi,
One of my customers configured his account this weekend.
He set up an alias pointing to three emails, one of them was his own alias.

his account = [EMAIL PROTECTED]

*He created an alias with the same name as the account.

Result, the email control file Q******.smd ended up with 5gbytes.

Imail was so stuck with this loop process that I couldn't kill the process, had to boot up the machine.

Is there a way to avoid this from happening again?
Block aliases or forward misconfigurations?

Thank's

Rudy Pieruccini
