Can we PLEASE stop this ???? Putting an end the "smart ass remarks" starts at your own keyboard.
Rod's answer was sufficient and appropriate. I would be damn grateful (and always am!) when someone suffixes a "check the KB" with actual search terms to use, AND even a link to the KB. He offered a solution, instead of just bitching about the person asking a question that is in fact answered in the KB. And, he didn't have to waste his time re-typing what is clearly already in the KB. Jeez guys -- if you don't like how someone's posted a question, and it's something that's been asked a zillion times... HEY, it's GOING to happen. We all wish it wouldn't... but then again, we were all newbies once. It would seem a lot easier, and a lot better use of YOUR time, to hit your DELETE key, instead of taking time to tear the person a new butt hole over it. And then, start a whiny-ass thread about it. And refer back to that thread regularly. And then get jerks like me to take an extra two minutes out of our day to post a response when we've finally had enough of this crap coming down to us. The delete key is faster and easier than griping. Be helpful, or shut up. Rod was helpful. Many others have been helpful. The damn link to "How to properly ask a question" is useful. Beyond that, just face it -- there are ALWAYS newcomers, and it would seem much more wise to guide them gently but firmly rather than piss them off and have them say "well, I wanted to use iMail, but xxx problem, compounded by the arrogance of their support list, kinda pushed me towards product xxx". Oh yeah, don't forget to mention how *I* could have used my delete key in this case, and make sure to use some word like "hypocrite"... let's not break the cycle or anything. > -----Original Message----- > From: isp-lists [at] beachcomp.com [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Sent: Wednesday, March 17, 2004 12:18 PM > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Subject: RE: [IMail Forum] Junction to offload the spool directory > > > Wow Rod, > > This that make you feel better about yourself? > Sure hope it did, since you seem so interested in jumping in > anytime someone > asks a question you don't like. > (the Smart A$$ remarks thread sure fits here). > > No need to comment back. > > Dave > > -----Original Message----- > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Rod Dorman > Sent: Wednesday, March 17, 2004 12:12 PM > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Subject: Re: [IMail Forum] Junction to offload the spool directory > > On Wednesday, March 17, 2004, 10:31:35, isp-lists [at] > beachcomp.com wrote: > > How do you move it (tell Imail where it is)? > > You go to > > Knowledge Base/FAQ: http://www.ipswitch.com/support/IMail/ > > and search for "spool directory" > > click on the link that says > "IMail - How to change the spool directory" > > and follow the directions. > > -- > [EMAIL PROTECTED] "The avalanche has already started, it is too > Rod Dorman late for the pebbles to vote." ? > Ambassador Kosh > > > To Unsubscribe: http://www.ipswitch.com/support/mailing-lists.html > List Archive: http://www.mail-archive.com/imail_forum%40list.ipswitch.com/ Knowledge Base/FAQ: http://www.ipswitch.com/support/IMail/ To Unsubscribe: http://www.ipswitch.com/support/mailing-lists.html List Archive: http://www.mail-archive.com/imail_forum%40list.ipswitch.com/ Knowledge Base/FAQ: http://www.ipswitch.com/support/IMail/ To Unsubscribe: http://www.ipswitch.com/support/mailing-lists.html List Archive: http://www.mail-archive.com/imail_forum%40list.ipswitch.com/ Knowledge Base/FAQ: http://www.ipswitch.com/support/IMail/
