Only using IMail AV (Symantec) here, but using (active) client virus software on every computer which also is activated for Outlook (and can't be disabled by the standard user working here). Since you most likely have no influence in what your customer has on their client computer you might want to consider using a second one, but there are actually very very few that pass through IMail AV, only very new ones, which you can then in 99% of all cases catch via *.vbs, *.pif, ... filters for the attachments.

I’m using IMail AV (Symantec) and Trend Server Protect. Trend is not scanning my spool, or my temp directory.

I'm using Imail AV (Symantec) and F-Secure AV on the same server

F-Secure are not scanning my Spool Directory

Perfect solution for me!

All viruses so far are caught and deleted

Subject: [IMail Forum] AV suggestions... What is your religion?

I searched the archives and found a brief thread on what everyone is using for AV on IMail 8.05.  We have a customer that is requesting AV (they have IMail 8.05)  and we want to make the right choice, we are also considering bringing our leased server in house so to speak and we would need the AV for our server also.  I know this is  a religion thing with most people but I am real interested to know what you guys and girls are using and how it works for you.  Also is it a true statement that most if not all of you are using at least 2 AV products on your IMail servers?

Adam
