Oops, my number is off by a magnitude of 10, at approx 10Mb per user average with 50,000 users you would need 500Gb not 50Gb. You may see these kinds of number if your users are on IMAP or Webmail, but not if they are using POP3...

I work for the Navy.  I'm currently developing a new Training Network with Windows 2003 Server.  I would like to setup Imail for approximately 50 thousand users.  I was wondering:
How many servers do you suggest for this amount of users?
How many processors per server?
How much RAM per server?
How many simultaneous connections per server can I expect?
If any of you have setup clustering and have any hints, tips, or known issues I may have?

A little background, I am currently using:
Dell Poweredge 2650
Dual P4 Xeon 2.8 GHz
2GB Ram
3x32GB SCSI Drives

Any help with this matter would be greatly appreciated.
