Just upgraded to 8.10 HF2 from 8.05 and have a couple of issues/comments:

1. With 8.05, when we sent out a lot of messages at once, the spool file would go
through and send out most messages before retrying the ones that failed. Now with 8.10
it seems to be re-trying many of the messages before getting through the whole
spool file, thus making it take a lot longer to get messages out, incoming messages
seem to get delayed in the spool for about 2 hours until most of the spool gets worked
through. Some
of the messages have 4 or 5 attempts while others have not been tried yet. This is
only happening when sending a high amount of volume. Would increasing the Listen Pipe
value in queue manager
help resolve this issue?

2. SMTP Log files - we seemed to be getting a lot more "Delivery failed X attempts:"
messages, so we changed SMTP settings to Log to syslog.txt to monitor to find out what
was going on. After restarting SMTP, the log file seemed to be only listing a portion
of what it should, for example,

04:15 23:52 SMTPD(588a01b901221054) [66.151.182.241] mail from: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
04:15 23:52 SMTPD(588a01b901221054) [66.151.182.241] rcpt to: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
04:15 23:52 SMTPD(588a01b901221054) [66.151.182.241]
e:\imail\spool\D588a01b901221054.SMD 2608

We changed the setting back and forth a few times, restarted, etc... and it didn't
seem to help. However starting
at exactly midnight the next day the SMTP log file began working correctly. Anyone
else experience this problem?

3. The additions of detailed postmaster messages in 8.1 have been most helpful.

Thanks
Adam
