Eeek. Seems rather drastic. I might try it with my mailbox as an experiment; rename MAIN.MBX to something else, see if the problem goes away then move my messages (all 1500 of them) back to the main box. This isn't a workable solution for a system that has 100 users with dozens of folders each, though
