I'm running version 8.1HF2

The file was not saved. As soon as he opened the file I told him to close
it. It did not prompt him to save the file.

I did not stop and restart all the services just the smtp service but I will
do it right away.

This is definitely an issue with SMTPd32.exe, that Ipswitch will need to 
investigate (assuming you are running the latest version).

The vital missing piece of information is "Did you save the file?".  If you 
opened it and even edited it, there would be no problem.  But if you saved 
it (with or without editing it), then it could cause this problem.

Did you stop/restart all the IMail services after loading in the old 
version of that file?  If not, I would recommend doing so.  If you did, 
this may be unrelated to the smtpd32.exe file.  From the .dll file 
("iaspam.dll"), it sounds like it is part of the IMail v8 anti-spam rather 
than the control access file.
