To solve the Windows 2003/Imail Anit-Spam/MS DNS service issue, you will either need to use a different DNS service other than the MS one, (although I have not tested this,) or use a different DNS server for resolution. (I have not tested this either.)
The way I solved the problem is disabling all Imail DNS based Anti-Spam tests.

Hi there:
Well, im starting to give up with this Imail AntiSpam features, as i see it, they add tooooo much latency to email delivery!
Currently, we bought down here a server for Imail (IBM Dual Processor 2.8 Ghz Xeon, 2.5 GB RAM, Level 3 RAID 70 GB HD's + 3 E1 channels of direect internet access), and as i see it, nor even hardware or network is my problem.
We only use BlackListing tests (Mails last more than 5 minutes to deliver, EVEN LOCALY) , and if we turn on the other A-SPAM features, mails get stuck at the queue for about 1 hour(The only thing at the logs is that the procees is performing spam checks).
I recently sended an email to the list, and someone pointed out that Imail had some issues with Windows 2003 + MS.DNS (Wich is my config) but still can not figure out how to solve the problem.
Tonight im planning to go back to Windows 2000 server + DNS but I really want to know if this is normal ?.
My spamblkst.txt file looks like:
# NAME SERVER DOMAIN TO QUERY TYPE ENABLED REJECT SpamCop * bl.spamcop.net D T F spamhaus * sbl.spamhaus.org D T F Spamhaus-SBL+XBL * sbl-xbl.spamhaus.org D T F Composite-Blocking-List * cbl.abuseat.org D T F ORDB * relays.ordb.org D T F DSBL * list.dsbl.org D T F DNSRBL * spam.dnsrbl.net D T F SORBS * dnsbl.sorbs.net D T F
Again, when you look at the spam logs, i receive the following like a zillion of times:
05:04 17:41 SMTPD(1c0618c2004ea8d6) [00002164] <geo.net.co> BLACKLIST: failed to connect to service (Composite-Blocking-List:*:cbl.abuseat.org)
And so on and on with any black list......some emails get checked, others not!.
I dont know if i need to convince my boss to buy another third party software (like Declude JunkMail or IMGate), but the last Server Investment promised to be the solution (Wich obviously was not).
May it be that the spam config Im using is wrong ???? (I still cant figure out the correct Server Parameter to put at each list. I leave the * wich seams to work )
