I saw something like this once. It turned out that the sender's outlook
.pst file was over 2GB and every message in her outbox was being sent
repeatedly.

Can you get your users to check their mail via the web interface and =
delete the message from this person? Weird how your logs show it only being
delivered once...

Hi guys, dont know if you can help but here goes...

I have an imail system with users logging in over Outlook. a user sent a
mailshot out with over 1200 addresses in the BCC field. now the recipients
are getting thousands of copies of the same e-mail. any ideas? as we are
monitoring the queues and the spool and nothing is goping out, even the logs
are saying only 20 odd messages being delivered etc. but one of the
recipients called up and complained that as soon as the SMTP and POP3 ports
were opend up on the firewall (these had to be closed in an attempt to stop
the massive message flow) they recieved over 300 messages.

any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,

Max..
